Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist

Dunbar Education are looking for strong experienced candidates to support some Primary Schools within Hertfordshire.

The desired role is a Teaching Assistant that specialises in Behaviour management and this would be a 1:1 position working with 1 pupil to build a relationship with them and start creating activities through academic work to improve behaviour. The year group can vary but will start initally in KS1.

The candidate needs to have resillience, confidence and ability to manage behaviour in various ways. We do require a minimum of 6-12 months experience as a Teaching Assistant or a behaviour specialist to fulffil this role correctly.

The hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, there is no planning required, the days are Monday-Friday and are only required in term time.

The school we are working with is a two-form entry school in Watford and they have a strong inclusive ethos.

The main duties of this position:

  • Provide a safe space for the children
  • Practice various methods to improve adacemic and behaviour levels
  • Support the child on a 1:1 basis and build a trusting relationship
  • Track progression in a report format and deliver the feedback to the classroom teacher and parents

The requirements to apply:

  • DBS (on the update service)
  • A minimum of 6-12 months experience in a Primary setting or Behaviour Specialist role
  • Ideally drive but not mandatory
