Are you a passionate and dedicated Humanities teacher with a specialism in History? Dunbar Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join a thriving 11-18 mixed academy in Northampton. This role offers flexibility, with both part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) and full-time positions available, allowing you to make a significant impact on students' understanding of history and the broader humanities.
About the Role:
- Position: Teacher of Humanities (History Specialism)
- Levels: Key Stages 3-5
- Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
- Contract Type: Part-Time (0.6 FTE minimum) or Full-Time
- Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons to students to GCSE and ideally A-level.
- Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum plans.
- Teach some KS3 Geography and/or Religious Education (RE) as needed.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Humanities.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress and development.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events related to Humanities.
Requirements:
- A degree in History or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - applications from ECTs and more experienced colleagues are both warmly welcomed.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-level.
- Ability to teach KS3 Geography and/or RE.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
