Pay Scale: MPS/UPS (based on experience)


Dunbar Education is excited to present an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teacher of Girls' PE to join a thriving Ofsted 'Good' mainstream school in Beaconsfield. This role starts January 2025 or earlier, with a competitive salary on the MPS/UPS scale.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professional Values and Practice:

    • Hold high expectations for all students, encouraging physical fitness and personal growth while respecting their diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
    • Safeguard and promote the welfare of students at all times.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in PE.
    • Engage with parents or carers, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements.
    • Commit to professional development, identifying areas for growth in teaching practice and working to improve as an educator.
    • Attend staff and departmental meetings and participate in performance management processes.
    • Contribute to the school's duty rota and adhere to the Health and Safety policy.
  • Teaching and Learning:

    • Set challenging and engaging PE objectives for all students, catering to a wide range of abilities and promoting physical health and wellbeing.
    • Plan and deliver varied and inclusive PE lessons, including team sports, individual fitness activities, and leadership opportunities.
    • Ensure that lessons are inclusive for students with special educational needs and that all students are motivated to participate.
    • Work effectively as part of a team, guiding and collaborating with support staff and other teachers to maximise student engagement.
    • Promote a positive learning environment, focusing on teamwork, respect, and fair play in line with school policies.
  • Monitoring and Assessment:

    • Use a variety of assessment strategies to track student progress, monitor physical development, and adjust teaching approaches accordingly.
    • Mark and assess students' performance and engagement regularly, following the school's marking and assessment policy.
    • Record and report on student development, providing feedback to both students and parents.
  • Safeguarding:

    • Ensure familiarity with and understanding of current safeguarding policies.
    • Report any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong commitment to encouraging physical health and wellbeing
  • Passion for professional development and collaboration with colleagues
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
