SENCo/DSL - Special School, Slough

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced SENCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join a special school in Slough. This school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education and support.

About the Role:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Responsible for leading SEND provision across the school
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
  • Working closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement tailored learning strategies
  • Overseeing EHCPs, interventions, and additional support plans
  • Leading a team of support staff to provide high-quality SEND education

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain it)
  • Previous experience as a SENCo and/or DSL in a specialist or mainstream setting
  • Strong knowledge of EHCP processes, safeguarding policies, and SEND legislation
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
