We take pride in creating an environment that fosters positive learning experiences, self-esteem, and social skills. As part of our holistic approach to education, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Sports Coach to join our team and support the delivery of tailored physical education and sports activities.

As a Sports Coach, you will work directly with students to engage them in structured sports and physical activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, self-discipline, and emotional regulation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate inclusive sports and physical education sessions tailored to the needs of students with SEN and behavioural challenges.
  • Use sport and physical activity as a tool to enhance social skills, build relationships, and foster teamwork.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group coaching for students, ensuring that individual needs and learning styles are taken into account.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour, using positive reinforcement and strategies to help them stay engaged and motivated.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff to monitor student progress and adapt approaches to meet students' changing needs.
  • Encourage students to set personal goals, improve self-esteem, and take responsibility for their own health and fitness.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working with students with SEN and/or behavioural challenges, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • A recognised qualification in sports coaching or physical education (e.g., Level 2 or above in Sports Coaching or a related field).
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to engage students with additional needs.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to supporting students with a variety of needs.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in an alternative provision or special education setting.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding training.
  • Additional qualifications in behaviour management or therapeutic interventions.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
