SENCO Position - Part-Time (2 Days a Week)

About the Role:

Dunbar Education is delighted to be working with a highly regarded Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their dedicated team. This role is perfect for an individual looking to make a significant impact in the lives of students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SEN provision within the school, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Develop and implement tailored strategies and interventions for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other associated learning difficulties and behavioural challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN, adjusting support as needed to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience as a SENCO within an SEN or mainstream school setting.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in working with students with ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
  • Qualifications: National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent.
  • DBS: Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills with a proven ability to manage a team and work collaboratively.
