We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly respected and Ofsted Outstanding-rated school in South London. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting students with special educational needs, including those with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ALD (Autistic Learning Difficulties), and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic and personal development of students with varying levels of special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure that every student receives the tailored support they need to succeed in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide personalized support to students with special educational needs, including those with ASD, ALD, and SLD.
  • Personal Care: Assist with the personal care and daily living needs of students, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the school day.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support classroom activities, helping to create an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to ensure continuous improvement and development.

Requirements:

  • DBS Check: A valid and up-to-date DBS check is essential for this role.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and are eager to develop their skills.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of students with special needs.
