The Role: As an SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with various special educational needs within the Secondary School setting. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, focusing on their individual needs and learning objectives.
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Supporting students with social and emotional difficulties to enhance their overall well-being.
  • Helping with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tracking students' progress.
  • Encouraging independence and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborating with the school's SEN team to ensure effective support strategies are in place.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to understanding and addressing students' individual requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN Diploma) will be advantageous.
  • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude towards contributing to the school community.
