Location: Wellingborough, UK

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Working Days: 4-5 days per week

Start Date: October 2024

Job Summary:

Dunbar Education, a reputable recruitment partner in the education field, is looking for a dedicated SEN Coordinator who is passionate about leadership and aiding young learners. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the headteacher to oversee SEN provision, ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive personalized support. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing compliance and documentation while promoting an inclusive environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS certification on the Update Service
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Expertise in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting children with diverse special educational needs and behavioral challenges
  • Strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent communication and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all pupils receive the required support by leading and managing SEN provision.
  • Track student progress and adapt strategies to optimize individual outcomes.
  • Design and implement tailored interventions for students with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and sustain Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Offer continuous training and guidance to staff on best practices in special educational needs.
  • Maintain detailed SEN records and ensure adherence to statutory regulations.
