Responsibilities:

  • Provide crucial support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their well-being and positive behaviour.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
  • Implement tailored strategies and interventions to support students in managing their emotions and behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create personalised plans for students' social and emotional development.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and actively participating in their academic progress.
  • Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring students' physical and emotional safety at all times.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience and a genuine passion for working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and the ability to implement effective strategies to support students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to build positive relationships based on trust, empathy, and understanding.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students' emotional well-being.
  • Team player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
