Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a thriving mainstream primary school in Dudley. This role is perfect for someone with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism in a mainstream setting.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to implement personalized learning plans.
  • Use a variety of strategies to manage and support pupils' learning, emotional well-being, and behaviour.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of individual pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and educational success for all children.

Desirable:

  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a primary school setting.
