Early Years Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the passionate team at a dynamic primary school that is in Bedford.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the early years team to create a stimulating and safe atmosphere for the children. You will collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of the children.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging early years activities that promote learning and development.
  • Support children's social, emotional, and educational growth.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to the Lead Teacher.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom, ensuring resources are easily accessible.
  • Prepare learning materials and resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with children in an early years setting is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for supporting young learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of children and the school.
