Autism Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a Primary School we partner with in Bedfordshire.

We are looking for someone with a relevant qualification and experience with proven results of hitting targets in a SEN support position.

The role is 5 days a week with full-time hours (8:30am-3:30pmm) - this is a fixed-term contract with the high potential to turn into permanent.

The positon requires you to:

  • Provide extra support for the child with their classwork
  • Build a relationship in order to understand the childs likes and dislikes (this will be used to plan teaching methods that allow them to learn)
  • Feedback to the classroom teacher and parents on the progression of the child
  • Provide a safe working environment and be aware of potential risks
  • Have basic knowledge of the core subjects

To apply for this position:

  • Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification or a minimum of 12 months SEN experience with ASD
  • DBS on the update service
  • Great understanding and knowledge of ASD
