Position: Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2024
Location:Wellingboroug,Northamptonshire
Pay Rate:£85 - £95 per day

We are seeking dedicated professionals to join a specialist SEN school in Wellingboroug,Northamptonshire. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Job Description:

We are looking for passionate and skilled individuals to take on SEN Teaching Assistant roles at a school in Wellingborough. We welcome applications from both qualified professionals and those with at least six months of experience in education or care work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support and education to children with diverse Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) alongside SENCO and other staff.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your expertise in SEN support.

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar role, supporting children with SEN, or previous care work.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective strategies for support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
