We are working with a welcoming and vibrant school located in Bedford, Bedfordshire that is looking for a passionate 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September. The school is committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all its pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support class teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and assist in planning and preparing learning activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN), adapting teaching methods to individual learning styles.
- Cover classes in the absence of the teacher as needed.
- Assist in implementing specialized education plans and strategies for SEN pupils.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported and valued.
- Collaborate with SENCOs and school staff to develop and implement personalized learning goals and interventions.
- Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and caregivers as necessary.
- Assist with sensory integration techniques and other therapeutic interventions as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting the academic and social development of pupils with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and caregivers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging situations.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential.
