Here at a dynamic school, we are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join our vibrant team, offering crucial support to secondary students within a specialist ASD setting. This fulfilling role involves facilitating social communication, effectively managing sensory needs, and ensuring students can fully access the curriculum. We are looking for individuals available for a variety of contract types, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent opportunities, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support to secondary students with ASD.
* Implementing strategies to enhance social communication skills and foster positive interactions.
* Proactively managing and responding to students' sensory needs within the learning environment.
* Assisting students in accessing a broad and balanced curriculum across various subjects.
* Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENCOs to create inclusive learning plans.
* Contributing to the development of a supportive and understanding school community for all students.
About You
* You possess previous experience working with secondary-aged students on the autism spectrum.
* You demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of young people with SEN.
* You are adept at implementing differentiated learning approaches to meet individual student needs.
* Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to build rapport with students, staff, and parents effectively.
* You are patient, resilient, and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* You are committed to fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
