We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive school in Bedfordshire, East of England, from September 2026. This permanent, long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire secondary school pupils with innovative DT lessons across a diverse curriculum. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering creativity and practical skills within a thriving department. We are open to applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators looking for their next rewarding challenge.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver dynamic, challenging Design and Technology lessons to secondary students.
* Assess pupil progress rigorously, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
* Contribute proactively to the ongoing development of the DT curriculum and departmental resources.
* Participate fully in departmental meetings, training sessions, and whole-school initiatives.
* Ensure all workshop activities adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications.
* You have demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology across the secondary age range, or you are an ECT eager to commence your career.
* A genuine passion for your subject is evident, inspiring young people to explore design principles and practical application.
* You are deeply committed to fostering every student's academic progress and personal well-being.
* Your classroom management skills are excellent, maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
