Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a specialist educational environment.
* Facilitate and encourage positive social communication, promoting meaningful interactions among students.
* Proactively manage sensory needs, creating a comfortable and conducive learning atmosphere for all.
* Assist students in accessing and understanding the curriculum, adapting materials as required.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement individualised learning plans.
* Monitor and record student progress, contributing to ongoing assessments and development strategies.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly within a secondary phase.
* Exhibit a deep understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong rapport with students and colleagues.
* Show a proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
* Be adept at adapting support strategies to meet individual student requirements and promote independence.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN, particularly ASD, is highly desirable.
