A inclusive primary school in the vibrant Cambridge area is seeking a compassionate and proactive 1:1 SEN Support Assistant. This crucial role involves providing dedicated support to a pupil with complex needs, which may include ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment, fostering their development within a nurturing educational environment. You will play a vital part in implementing EHCP targets, building strong rapport, and liaising effectively with both internal staff and external therapists. This long-term opportunity offers competitive daily rates ranging from £85 to £110, with various contract options including daily supply and permanent positions available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent and tailored 1:1 support to a primary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Diligently implement individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and strategies.
* Foster a positive, engaging, and accessible learning environment that promotes pupil well-being.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, including therapists.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, adapting support methods to meet evolving needs.
* Encourage independence and social interaction, supporting the pupil's integration within the school community.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Exhibit a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupil development.
* Hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective liaison with diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for making a positive impact on a child's educational journey.
* Be proactive, adaptable, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
