We are seeking a passionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a secondary-aged pupil with complex needs. Your crucial role will involve implementing personalised strategies outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), facilitating access to the curriculum, and championing the development of independence and essential life skills. This vital position offers flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent engagements, starting as soon as possible, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated one-to-one support, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
* Diligently implement and monitor the individual targets set out in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan.
* Facilitate seamless access to the secondary curriculum, adapting resources as necessary to meet specific learning styles.
* Actively promote the development of crucial independence and essential life skills, empowering the pupil's growth.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and wider support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational approach.
* Regularly observe and record the pupil's progress, providing valuable feedback for ongoing planning and adjustments.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, particularly those with complex requirements.
* Demonstrable experience working within a secondary school setting or with secondary-aged pupils is highly valued.
* A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their practical application is essential.
* You are patient, empathetic, and possess the resilience needed to inspire and guide pupils through their learning journey.
* Exceptional communication skills allow you to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
