At a respected school within a vibrant East London community, we are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our supportive team. This pivotal role ensures a seamless learning environment for our students, stepping in to facilitate lessons across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher. You will be instrumental in upholding our positive school culture and commitment to educational excellence, fostering a productive atmosphere for all pupils. This position offers flexibility with options for long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent engagements, starting as soon as possible, providing a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
• Effectively deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary school pupils.
• Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, managing student behaviour in line with school policies.
• Facilitate engaging learning experiences, ensuring students remain on task and achieve lesson objectives.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning and provide feedback on lessons delivered.
• Supervise students during non-contact time, including breaks and transitions, promoting a safe atmosphere.
• Accurately record student attendance and report any significant issues to the appropriate colleagues.
About You
• Possess prior experience working with young people in a secondary school setting.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management techniques and the ability to inspire respect.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with students and staff.
• Show a proactive approach to work, capable of adapting to various classroom scenarios with confidence.
