A well-established school is seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join their vibrant primary phase, providing specialist support for pupils on the autism spectrum within a nurturing provision. We are looking for an individual available to start as soon as possible, with opportunities spanning long-term contracts, daily supply, short-term assignments, and even permanent positions for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement tailored structured routines to provide predictability and stability for pupils.
* Assist with the development and application of sensory strategies to support pupils' regulation and engagement.
* Facilitate effective communication support using various methods appropriate for individual pupils.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to achieve individual learning objectives.
* Support primary pupils on the autism spectrum in their academic and social development.
* Contribute to creating a positive and stimulating learning environment within the specialist ASD provision.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting primary pupils with additional needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
* You have demonstrable experience working with children with ASD in an educational setting.
* An understanding of various communication strategies and sensory integration techniques is essential.
* You are proactive, adaptable, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* You exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience when facing challenges, always maintaining a positive outlook.
