We are seeking a dedicated ASD Support Assistant to join a progressive school, providing crucial support within a specialist primary provision. This vital role involves assisting primary pupils on the autism spectrum, implementing structured routines, sensory strategies, and communication support to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. We are open to discussions regarding contract length, with opportunities for long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions available, commencing as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored support to primary pupils on the autism spectrum.
* Implement structured routines and visual aids effectively.
* Facilitate communication development through various strategies.
* Manage and support sensory needs within the specialist provision.
* Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere for all learners.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and SENCO to achieve individual pupil goals.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs.
* Demonstrate previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum, ideally within a primary setting.
* Exhibit a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to daily challenges.
* Command strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be proactive in implementing individualised support plans.
* Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is highly desirable.
