We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Support Assistant to join a supportive primary SEN school. This long-term, permanent opportunity, starting as soon as possible, involves working within a specialist provision for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, making a significant difference to the lives of young learners daily.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in their learning journey.
* Assist with personal care routines, maintaining dignity and respect for every individual.
* Facilitate engaging sensory stimulation activities to enhance pupil development and engagement.
* Implement individualised therapy programmes as directed by specialists and class teachers.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure holistic pupil progress.
* Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all pupils.
About You
* Previous experience supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties is essential.
* Possess a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
* Hold a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs.
* Exhibit a proactive and adaptable mindset, keen to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are highly desirable for this position.
