SEN Teaching Assistant

This fulfilling role involves working closely with children holding Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), delivering tailored assistance both 1:1 and within small group settings. You will have the opportunity to make a profound difference to pupils experiencing a range of challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and speech and language difficulties. We offer flexible contract options, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £90 to £115. An immediate start is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support and lead small group interventions for primary-aged pupils with diverse SEN.
* Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and understood.
* Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation, including those with ASD and ADHD.
* Collaborate effectively with class teachers and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and adapt strategies.
* Encourage the development of independence and self-confidence in all children.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs, particularly at primary phase.
* Previous experience working with pupils who have complex learning difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs, is essential.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with children, staff, and parents.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting individual pupil progress is crucial.
* You are proactive in your work, able to adapt strategies and manage challenging situations with confidence.
* Holding a relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning or SEN is highly desirable.
