A forward-thinking school is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join its specialist primary team. You will be responsible for leading learning for small groups of pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This vital role involves skilfully adapting the national curriculum to meet diverse individual needs. You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to foster a supportive and enriching educational environment. This position offers flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent placements, with an attractive daily rate of £150 - £250, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver highly engaging lessons tailored to small groups of pupils with EHCPs.
* Effectively adapt the national curriculum to suit a wide range of special educational needs.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to provide comprehensive in-class support.
* Liaise regularly with external therapists to integrate specialist strategies into daily learning.
* Build strong, positive relationships with families to support pupils' holistic development.
* Assess pupil progress rigorously and contribute to regular reviews of EHCPs.
About You
* Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passion for special educational needs education.
* Have proven experience working effectively with primary-aged pupils who have EHCPs.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.
* Be highly adaptable and creative in differentiating the curriculum for diverse learning styles.
* Show commitment to continuous professional development within the SEN field.
* Exhibit a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching and learning.
