SEN Teaching Assistant

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school environment in South West London, specifically within the Bromley area. You will play a crucial role in fostering the development of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working both 1:1 and with small groups. This specialist SEN school caters to children with diverse and complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, requiring a compassionate and adaptable approach. We are seeking individuals available for immediate starts, with flexible contract options ranging from daily supply and short-term assignments to long-term and permanent positions, offering a competitive daily rate between £90 and £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with complex learning needs, ensuring their individual EHCP targets are met.
* Facilitate small group interventions, creating engaging and effective learning experiences for children.
* Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans designed to promote pupil progress and independence.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and therapists to create an inclusive and stimulating educational setting.
* Support pupils in managing their emotions and developing essential social communication skills.
* Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment for all children.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting.
* You demonstrate a deep understanding of various complex learning difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD, and speech and language challenges.
* You are patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for making a difference in pupils' lives.
* You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with staff, pupils, and parents.
* You are proactive and adaptable, able to respond effectively to evolving classroom and individual pupil needs.
