A dynamic school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide individualised assistance for a pupil with complex needs within its primary provision. This crucial role involves building meaningful rapport, meticulously implementing EHCP targets, and effectively liaising with external therapists to foster significant progress. We are looking for candidates available for long-term, daily supply, or permanent contracts, offering a competitive daily rate of £85 - £110 for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide bespoke 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's specific needs, including those with ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Develop a strong, positive rapport and trust with the pupil to encourage engagement and well-being.
* Accurately implement and monitor targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Collaborate effectively with external therapists and specialists to integrate support strategies into daily routines.
* Maintain detailed records of the pupil’s progress, achievements, and daily well-being for review.
* Facilitate an inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, communication, and sensory regulation.
About You
* Possess proven experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach in all interactions.
* Exhibit strong communication skills, enabling effective liaison with pupils, staff, and external professionals.
* Be proactive, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to varying situations with a calm demeanour.
* Show an unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Hold a genuine desire to positively impact a child's educational journey and overall development.
