This vital role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, fostering their development and engagement within a structured environment. You will be instrumental in building positive relationships, implementing effective de-escalation strategies, and providing crucial mentoring to help pupils thrive. This position offers flexible contract options, including daily supply, short-term, long-term, and permanent opportunities, with a competitive daily rate of £95 - £120, commencing as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to primary pupils with identified social, emotional, and mental health needs.
* Skillfully implement de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
* Act as a positive mentor, guiding pupils in developing healthy social interactions and emotional regulation.
* Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities for individuals and small groups.
* Contribute proactively to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and highly structured learning environment.
* Collaborate closely with the wider school team to monitor pupil progress and adapt support strategies.
About You
* Demonstrable experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a primary setting.
* Possess a genuine understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of primary education.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong rapport with pupils and colleagues.
