About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school, committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for its pupils. This integral role involves providing targeted assistance to primary-aged children experiencing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them to navigate their learning journey with confidence and resilience. You will be instrumental in creating a safe and encouraging space where every child feels valued and understood.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, adapting approaches to individual requirements.
* Implement de-escalation strategies effectively to manage challenging behaviours calmly and constructively.
* Engage in mentoring activities, building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
* Assist with the delivery of engaging learning activities, ensuring accessibility and relevance for all students.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to share insights and develop consistent support plans.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting the development of children with SEMH needs.
* Demonstrate a calm and patient demeanour, particularly when faced with challenging situations.
* Have experience in mentoring or working therapeutically with young people.
* Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport easily.
* Understand the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
* Be proactive and adaptable, willing to contribute positively to the school community.
