A dedicated school is seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to join its supportive team as an ASD Support Assistant. This vital role involves working closely with secondary students on the autism spectrum within a specialist setting, facilitating their social communication development and ensuring successful curriculum access. You will play a crucial part in managing sensory needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment. Opportunities for various contract types including long-term, daily supply, short-term, or permanent positions are available. This role offers a competitive daily rate of £90 - £115.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to secondary students on the autism spectrum.
* Facilitate and encourage effective social communication skills.
* Assist students in managing their sensory needs within the school environment.
* Support access to the curriculum, adapting materials as required.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for all pupils.
* Collaborate effectively with teachers and other support staff to achieve student goals.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
* You have experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally those on the autism spectrum.
* You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* You are proactive, patient, and able to adapt to individual student requirements.
* You are committed to promoting inclusion and fostering student independence.
* Relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support
