Join our dedicated team at a highly regarded school in the Wolverhampton area seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEN Support Assistant. This vital role involves providing bespoke assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, or sensory impairments. You will play a crucial part in implementing tailored EHCP targets, fostering a strong rapport, and collaborating closely with therapists to ensure the pupil's progress and well-being within an inclusive learning environment. This long-term opportunity offers a daily rate between £85 and £110, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs.
* Implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets effectively.
* Build and maintain a positive, trusting rapport with the pupil.
* Facilitate the pupil's access to the curriculum and social interactions.
* Liaise regularly with class teachers, SENCO, and external therapists.
* Assist with personal care and mobility as required, promoting independence.
About You
* Possess demonstrable experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment.
* Show a genuine passion for making a difference in a child's educational journey.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with all stakeholders.
* Demonstrate a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenges.
* Hold relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children within a primary school setting.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
