A supportive school in the Berkshire area is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team, providing essential support to secondary students on the autism spectrum. This fulfilling role involves working within a specialist ASD setting, making a significant difference to young people's educational journey and overall well-being. We are looking for someone available for various contract types, including long-term, short-term, daily supply, or permanent positions, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitating effective social communication skills among students.
* Helping students manage their sensory needs within the school environment.
* Providing tailored support to access the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) or support strategies.
* Fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere for all pupils.
* Collaborating closely with teaching staff and other professionals to enhance student progress.
About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting young people with autism spectrum conditions.
* Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within an SEN or specialist setting.
* An empathetic and patient approach, understanding the unique needs of each individual.
* Proactive in identifying and responding to student requirements, promoting independence.
* Excellent communication skills, able to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
