A supportive school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or sensory impairments. This long-term opportunity offers daily supply and permanent contract options, starting as soon as possible, with a competitive daily rate ranging from £85 to £110 for your invaluable contribution. You will be instrumental in building rapport with the pupil, meticulously implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, and liaising effectively with external therapists to ensure holistic support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide bespoke one-to-one support to a primary-aged pupil throughout the school day.
* Diligently implement all targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere for the pupil.
* Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach.
* Support the pupil's engagement in learning activities and social interactions within the school setting.
* Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring comfort and dignity.
About You
* Possess prior experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* Demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in your professional approach.
* Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively liaise with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing positively to a dedicated team.
* Hold a genuine commitment to the holistic development and well-being of every child.
