A progressive primary school in the Loughton area of Essex is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. This vital role involves supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within a specialist SEN primary setting. You will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing environment, working both 1:1 and with small groups of children who have complex learning needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. We are open to discussing various contract options, from daily supply and short-term placements to long-term and permanent opportunities, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to primary pupils, empowering their individual learning journeys.
* Facilitate engaging small group activities, fostering collaborative development.
* Assist children with complex learning needs, including those with ASD and ADHD.
* Implement strategies to support pupils with speech and language difficulties effectively.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers and therapists to adapt learning materials.
* Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere for all learners.
About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting primary-aged children with SEN.
* Have previous experience working with children who have complex learning needs.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
* Show a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to daily challenges.
* Be proactive in implementing support plans and adapting to individual pupil requirements.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional development in SEN support is highly advantageous.
