About the Role
In a supportive school located in the Colchester area, we are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide vital assistance to a primary-aged pupil with complex special educational needs. This fulfilling role involves working closely with a child who may have ASD, PMLD, or a sensory impairment, offering tailored support to help them thrive. You will play a crucial part in fostering their development and ensuring their educational journey is positive and enriching. This position offers an immediate start and a chance to make a profound impact on a young learner's life.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent and dedicated 1:1 support to a specific primary-aged pupil.
* Build a strong, trusting rapport to foster a positive learning environment.
* Effectively implement individualised Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
* Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication needs as required.
* Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external therapists.
* Support the pupil's engagement in learning activities and social interactions.

About You
* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Experience working with pupils who have complex needs such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments is highly desirable.
* You demonstrate exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
* An ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents is essential.
* You have a good understanding of EHCPs and their practical implementation.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or teaching assistance are advantageous.
