Dunbar Education is seeking to appoint an exceptional and dynamic Head of Social Science to lead a thriving department within a welcoming secondary school located in Buckinghamshire. This is a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful candidate will benefit from a competitive salary, paid to scale, plus a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Social Science department, fostering a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement an engaging and effective curriculum across all key stages within the Social Science faculty.
• Inspire and motivate both students and staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Oversee departmental resources and budget effectively.
• Contribute to the wider strategic development of the school.
About You:
• A proven track record of outstanding teaching within Social Sciences.
• Experience in leadership or middle management within a secondary school setting.
• A deep understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements for Social Sciences.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
