About the Role

A respected school in the East Midlands is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team, providing invaluable assistance to pupils requiring additional learning support. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to make a real difference in the academic and personal development of young learners. You will be integral in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

* Support individual pupils with their learning needs in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans.
* Assist in the preparation and delivery of engaging learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage social interaction amongst students.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure holistic pupil support.
* Provide practical assistance to pupils with personal care needs when required.
* Observe and record pupil progress, contributing to detailed assessment reports.

About You

* You possess a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
* You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong rapport with pupils.
* You are patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations.
* You demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
* You have a good understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
* Previous experience working with children in an educational setting would be advantageous.
