A respected school in the East of England is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs. This vital role involves implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, facilitating access to the curriculum, and nurturing the development of independence and essential life skills. We are looking for someone available to start as soon as possible, with opportunities for long-term or permanent engagement, offering a daily rate between £85 and £110.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver consistent and personalised 1:1 support to a secondary pupil with complex special educational needs.
* Implement specific targets outlined within the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Facilitate effective access to the curriculum across various subjects and learning environments.
* Actively encourage and foster the pupil's growing independence and self-reliance.
* Support the development of crucial life skills, preparing the pupil for future challenges.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally in a 1:1 capacity.
* You have a solid understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their implementation.
* You demonstrate a genuine passion for fostering the development and well-being of young people with complex needs.
* You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong rapport with pupils and colleagues.
* You are patient, empathetic, and resilient, capable of adapting to diverse learning situations.
