We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join a ambitious primary school within a welcoming community in South West London. This vital role involves providing tailored, individualised support to a pupil with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairment, ensuring they thrive within our inclusive environment. You will play a crucial part in their daily learning journey, fostering independence and confidence through a compassionate approach. We are offering flexible contract options, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain a strong, positive rapport with the designated pupil.
* Implement specific targets and strategies outlined in the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
* Work collaboratively with external therapists and internal staff to deliver comprehensive support.
* Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs and promote engagement.
* Provide personal care assistance with dignity and sensitivity as required.
* Monitor and record the pupil's progress, contributing to regular review meetings.
About You
* You possess proven experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, PMLD, or sensory impairments.
* An empathetic and patient approach is central to your practice when working with young learners.
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
* You are a proactive individual, able to adapt quickly and think creatively in diverse situations.
* A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing educational experience is paramount.
* You are keen to contribute positively to a supportive school team and broader community.
