About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a respected school, making an immediate impact on student learning and continuity. This challenging position requires an individual who thrives in diverse classroom environments, adeptly managing student behaviour and engagement in the absence of their regular teacher. You will be instrumental in ensuring a productive atmosphere across various subjects, fostering an environment where students can continue their learning journey effectively each day.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during short-term teacher absences.
• Implement school behaviour policies consistently to maintain a calm and focused learning environment.
• Ensure students are actively engaged with the pre-set work provided by the absent teacher.
• Promote a positive and respectful classroom culture that supports student autonomy.
• Collect completed student work and deliver it to the relevant departmental staff.
• Report any significant behavioural issues or incidents accurately according to school procedures.

About You
• Possess previous experience working effectively with secondary school-aged young people.
• Demonstrate strong and confident classroom management and behaviour guidance skills.
• Exhibit excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities to connect with students and staff.
• Approach challenges with adaptability, resilience, and a proactive mindset.
• Capable of quickly building rapport and commanding respect within a classroom setting.
• Committed to contributing positively to the educational experience of all students.
