About the Role
At a dedicated school in Peterborough, we are seeking a compassionate and proactive ASD Support Assistant to join our specialist SEN team. This vital role involves providing dedicated support to secondary students on the autism spectrum within a tailored educational environment. You will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive. We have various flexible contract types available, commencing as soon as possible, offering competitive daily rates.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to secondary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Implement effective strategies to facilitate social communication skills among pupils.
* Proactively manage and respond to individual sensory needs within the learning environment.
* Assist students in accessing and engaging with the secondary curriculum across various subjects.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and therapists to deliver integrated support plans.
* Promote independence and develop essential life skills for young people within the specialist setting.

About You
* Possess a genuine passion for supporting the educational journey of young people with SEND.
* Demonstrate previous experience working effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum.
* Understand and sensitively address the diverse sensory needs of students.
* Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
* Show adaptability and resilience in a dynamic and rewarding educational setting.
* Be committed to fostering an environment of respect, understanding, and positive behaviour.
