This vital role involves re-engaging disaffected learners and expertly managing complex behaviour within a supportive environment. You will be responsible for delivering a modified curriculum tailored to meet individual student needs, fostering their academic progress and personal development. This opportunity is available on a long-term, daily supply, or permanent contract, offering a competitive daily rate of £150-£250 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a modified secondary curriculum, catering to diverse learning styles.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting a calm and productive classroom atmosphere.
* Inspire and re-engage learners who have previously struggled within mainstream settings.
* Develop and monitor individual education plans, ensuring personalised student progress.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other professionals to support student wellbeing and achievement.
* Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as required.
About You
* You possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification valid in the UK.
* You have demonstrable experience working with secondary-aged students presenting with SEMH needs.
* Your behaviour management skills are exceptional, enabling you to de-escalate situations calmly and effectively.
* You are deeply committed to making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
* You exhibit resilience, patience, and a flexible approach to teaching and learning.
* You are an excellent communicator, capable of building strong rapport with students, staff, and parents.
