At a thriving school, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our supportive primary SEN team. This role involves teaching in a specialist SEMH primary setting, where you will be instrumental in building therapeutic relationships and expertly managing challenging behaviour. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment. We are seeking professionals for various contract types, including long-term, daily supply, and permanent positions, with competitive rates ranging from £150 to £250 per day, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the specific needs of primary SEMH pupils.
* Implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
* Cultivate strong, therapeutic relationships with pupils, promoting their social and emotional development.
* Assess pupil progress regularly, adapting teaching methods to facilitate individual academic and personal growth.
* Collaborate effectively with support staff and external agencies to ensure holistic pupil support.
* Contribute positively to the wider school community and its inclusive ethos.
About You
* Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrable experience working with primary-aged children.
* Have a proven track record of teaching within an SEMH primary school or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting.
* Exhibit exceptional skills in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
* Demonstrate a deep understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs in young learners.
* Be resilient, empathetic, and committed to making a significant difference to pupils' lives.
