Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is dedicated to providing top-tier educational professionals to schools and educational institutions. We are currently representing a reputable Secondary SEN Provision in Milton Keynes, seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Worker to join their team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Youth Worker to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting with pupils' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure support for each pupil.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupils' progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies related to SEMH.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A DBS on the update service is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Commitment to working full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, or a related field.
  • Experience within a Secondary SEN Provision or similar setting.
