Dunbar Education is recruiting a passionate Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming school in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, for a short-term contract. This 2-month position, starting in January 2025, offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to make a meaningful impact in the classroom. This role is perfect for someone who is adaptable, dedicated, and ready to step in and inspire a Year 5 class.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons aligned with the Year 5 curriculum.
  • Monitor Pupil Progress: Assess and track pupils' learning and progress, offering support and feedback to help each child thrive.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment, fostering respect and engagement.
  • Parental Communication: Keep parents and caregivers informed about pupils' progress and address any concerns proactively.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity in pupil learning and uphold school values.

Main Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Required for primary teaching.
  • Key Stage 2 Experience: Ideally with experience teaching Year 5 or a similar age group.
  • Strong Classroom Presence: Able to build rapport with pupils quickly and manage the classroom effectively.
  • Flexible and Adaptable: Ready to jump into a new setting and provide high-quality teaching and support.
  • Team Player: Collaborative approach to work, building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
