Teaching Assistant - Part Time

Dunbar Education is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant school for the Spring and Summer term. This role will be based in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is part-time, working Wednesday to Friday from 8:45am to 3:30pm, with an unpaid lunch break of one hour.

About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant in EYFS, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences for our youngest learners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting individual children and small groups in their learning and development, ensuring all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of resources and activities that align with the Early Years curriculum.
  • Observing and recording children's progress, contributing to learning journals and reports.
  • Promoting positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, encouraging a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting the development of key skills, including communication, social interaction, and physical coordination, through play-based learning.
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's values of Community, Pride, and Resilience.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of the children at all times, including during playtimes and transitions.

Requirements: A Level 3 NVQ in Childcare, or equivalent, is essential for this role. The successful candidate should be passionate about working with young children, have strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
