Dunbar Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a minimum of a Level 2 Qualification to join one of our partnered schools in Watford.
Responsibilities:
Supporting Classroom Activities: Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, help manage classroom materials, and provide support during activities to ensure an engaging learning environment.
Individual and Group Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils, especially those who need extra help, to enhance their understanding and progress in various subjects.
Behaviour Management: Help manage pupil behaviour by implementing school policies, maintaining discipline, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as marking, record-keeping, and preparing resources, allowing the teacher to focus more on direct teaching.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months experience of working as a classroom assistant or similar, within the last 5 years. An understanding of leading SEN, reading and maths interventions for primary age groups.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (related to children) or equivalent. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to contribute to the planning and development of educational activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills & good organisational and time management skills.
