SENDCo - Specialist SEN Provision (Milton Keynes)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to join the dedicated team at a specialist SEN provision in Milton Keynes, catering to boys and girls aged 12 to 18 years old.

They are committed to supporting students academically, emotionally, and socially, helping them develop the skills they need for a brighter future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, ensuring their needs are identified, assessed, and met effectively.
  • Develop and oversee personalised learning plans and interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Support staff in implementing effective teaching strategies, behavior management, and differentiation to ensure every student thrives.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents/carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for each young person.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEN provision and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

About You:

We are looking for a committed and compassionate individual with:

  • A recognised teaching qualification and SENDCo accreditation (or willingness to achieve SENDCo qualification within a specified timeframe).
  • Proven experience in working with children and young people with complex needs, ideally in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current best practices in supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
  • A resilient and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
