Role Overview:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities in Telford. Your experience working as a SEND TA or your background in care will be invaluable as you assist in creating an inclusive learning environment. Collaborating with teachers and other professionals, you will play a crucial role in ensuring these students receive the best possible educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or from a care background.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (desirable).
  • Understanding of various SEND conditions and strategies to support them.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons and activities.
  • Help with personal care and mobility needs as necessary.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.
